Life has taken a new and exciting direction for me, which means there’s a whirlwind of activity, but it is all of the good variety.  Lots of scary changes, good-scary not bad-scary.  I’ve started an undergraduate degree in Graphic Design at Full Sail University, and while I’m only two months in to the three year long program, I absolutely love it.  The best part of each day is the time I spend working toward earning this degree.  Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t all sunshine and daisies.

Perks

One of the really nice things about Full Sail University, other than the accelerated program, great professors, and programming that just makes me super-happy, is that my tuition includes a MacBook Pro. Until that arrived the other day, I didn’t realize how much I’d missed having a laptop that I can use to type on while I’m doing something like watching Sense 8 on Netflix.  (I knew I should have bought  the keyboard for my iPad.)  That means that you’re more likely to see more posts from me, since I apparently associate blogging with relaxing and my home office with, well, work.

You may also see a few vlogs, maybe? I learned how to use iMovie.  How did I not know how cool this was?  I may

have gone a little overboard with a video assignment for a class, but I could do cross dissolves and background music and titles.  It was pretty awesome.  The hardest part was recording enough video of me not looking or sounding stupid.  Also, the waiting for it to upload.  I got a little impatient when I didn’t see results right away and clicked the button a bunch of times.  I may have slowed things down a tad (or two hours).  What can I say it is a learning process.

You may also notice my blog take on a decidedly design-y trend because…well…I mentioned I was studying Graphic Design right?  There are also a few people in my life who have expressed an interest in seeing some of the things I’ve done as assignments so far, so I may post some of that stuff here too.

DON’T PANIC!  Geek stuff isn’t going away!  As a matter of fact, I’m going to my first ComiCon on Saturday.  I promise, I will be taking a lot of pictures, and I will be sharing…stuff. I don’t know what, because I’ve never been to a ComiCon before.  There is no going halfway though, I am dressing up, and getting into the swing of things.

So, to sum up, went back go school, got a new laptop, writing more stuff while watching cool stuff, and going to my first ever ComiCon.  Basically, creating my life the way I want it to be.  Life by design.
